Can you help me understand the the Execute button?

Dear Lori,

I have read the article - Understanding the Execute Button in LiveCycle Designer (add the link) but I'm not having much success getting the connection to work properly.

I create a new data connection to a web service then drag and drop the fields to my form. Save the document and open in Adobe Reader.

When I click the button to send and/or receive data, I get nothing. Can you help?

Dear LE,

re you are doing everything correctly, but web services do not work with Adobe Reader, unless you've extended the rights of the PDF using Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions (link to LCRE page on Adobe.com).

To ensure your logic and connections are correct I suggest you do all your testing with Acrobat - and if it works, then you and your organization can pursue licensing Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions to enable the functionality to work in Adobe Reader.
