Can I hyperlink to a specific page of a PDF file?
Dear Lori,
From my webpage, I'd like to have hyperlinks to specific pages in a pdf file, but I'm not sure how to do it. The PDF file does have bookmarks in it, but I'm not sure where to go to find what that url is so I can add the link.
JS, San Francisco
Lori responds,
Hi JS,
There is a way to hyperlink directly to a page in a PDF. You append an open parameter to the end of the URL. For example, if I want to jump to page 24, the link would be
AcroJS_DesignerJS.pdf#page=24
Try the link below
partners.adobe.com...AcroJS_DesignerJS.pdf#page=24 [PDF: 549 KB]
Additionally you can specify parameters for zoom, showing bookmarks, or jumping to named destinations. This is fully documented atOpen Parameters
partners.adobe.com...PDFOpenParameters.pdf [PDF: 154 KB]
Please note... there is a bug in IE for Acrobat/Reader 7.0.7. This works fine in FireFox. But the good news... The bug was fixed in 7.0.8, so you will want to get the patch.
