Porkka
It makes our lives easier, improves services, and greatly reduces human errors caused by misunderstandings
Challenge
Based in Finland, Porkka is an international company that specializes in the design and manufacture of commercial refrigeration systems. The company's commercial refrigerators and modular cold rooms for kitchens, restaurants, and hotels are in daily use worldwide. Porkka is a member of the Huurre Group OY, one of the world's leading manufacturers of refrigerated equipment with manufacturing plants in Europe and the Far East.
Installing refrigerators and walk-in freezers in businesses worldwide demands that Porkka and its staff have the flexibility to respond quickly to changing customer requirements. For example, more than 14,000 variations of the company's cooling systems can be created depending on customer needs. And even after an installation begins further changes may be required to integrate freezers properly into historic buildings hundreds of years old.
Solution
Integral to addressing these challenges is the ability to communicate all elements of refrigeration design to Porkka customers and engineers working on installations. With the help of Adobe Acrobat 3D software, the company is accomplishing this goal by delivering 3D models in PDF to engineers and customers. The dynamic 3D models are also incorporated into up-to-date product documentation.
"Installing our refrigeration systems is complex, requiring constant insight into mechanical and architectural elements. With Acrobat 3D Version 8, I can quickly convert 3D models from AutoCAD to easily managed models in PDF that project teams and customers can view with free Adobe Reader software."
"Thanks to Adobe Acrobat 3D software, we can offer our customers ready access to 3D models of designs in PDF, without requiring them to purchase high-priced CAD software. It makes our lives easier, improves services, and greatly reduces human errors caused by misunderstandings because design intent can be clearly communicated every step of the way."
