Can I export solid objects in vector format from Acrobat 3D Toolkit and maintain color scheme and surface textures?
Dear 3D expert
I can open and edit Pro/E (prt & asm) files in the Acrobat 3D toolkit just fine and then export wireframe views for use in Illustrator of InDesign. But now I want to see if I can export solid objects in vector format and maintain color scheme and surface textures. Can this be done without first rendering the 3D object to raster format before importing into Illustrator or InDesign.

Answer
Acrobat 3D Toolkit lets you export solid objects in .ai as vector lines. Hidden line removal is an option ( the default). However you cannot export colors and shading as vector files. You can render the file to any resolution, with an alpha channel, in Acrobat 3D Toolkit and then export for this for use in Illustrator®, Photoshop® or InDesign®.
