Topic of the month: Passwords, digital signatures and security

With each successive version of Acrobat, Adobe Systems has enhanced the options and tools for securing documents. The current version provides a range of capabilities to address different types of content-protection needs. This month’s free, 75-minute eSeminar on “Passwords, digital signatures and security” will explore and explain the varied security methods available in Acrobat 8. The live, interactive event will take place on Wednesday, May 14 from 10-11:15 a.m. US Pacific (1-2:15 p.m. US Eastern). Participants can ask questions—via Acrobat Connect’s built-in text-chat feature—in real-time during the one-hour presentation. A dedicated, 15-minute Q&A session will follow.

This interactive session will cover:

• Using password protection and permission levels
• Using security envelopes to protect a group of documents
• Creating a reusable security policy
• Understanding, creating and using digital signatures
• Creating signature stamps
• Using redaction to protect sensitive information and intellectual property
• Understanding encryption levels

It allows users to interact with objects through various means, including rotation and frame sequencing to show three-dimensional movies.
