Acrobat users showcase: Share your stories

If you're using Adobe Acrobat in a significant, innovative or newsworthy way, we invite you to share your experiences with other community members around the world.

We’ll soon be launching a new series of user profiles to highlight how and why many of you are using Acrobat. We’d love to hear from users in a wide variety of industries and occupations.

Drop us a quick note with a brief description of your primary or most beneficial uses—we’ll follow up with a couple specific questions and then publish your tale.

Best Regards
~ Kurt, Editor, AcrobatUsers.com

Adobe interview: Bob Wulff, Sr. VP for Acrobat Engineering
Bob Wulff, Senior VP for Acrobat Engineering, talked recently with
AcrobatUsers.com about his long-time role--he's been involved from Acrobat's "gleam-in-John-Warnock's eye" days—and specifically about the development of Acrobat 8 and Acrobat Connect. “Acrobat 8 has a taste of some new features that are really just the beginning of what you'll see in the future,” he says. “A good example is the integration of Connect with Acrobat. That's really Step 1 in what I think will be a long and very exciting journey.”

Creating Barcoded Forms with Acrobat 8
Lee Sutton, Senior Solutions Architect for LiveCycle Barcode Forms, explains how to use Acrobat 8 to add a 2D barcode to a PDF form to capture user-entered data, eliminating the need to manually enter it from completed forms. The article—available for download in PDF—includes a sample ARESed PDF417 barcode that illustrates what can be done.

Member benefit: Discount on Total Training for Acrobat 8 DVDs
Acrobat User Community members can save 20 percent on a 12-hour training series—two DVDs—on Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional from Total Training. In the just-released, $129.99-value training resource, Tim Plumer Jr. demonstrates how to use the tools and features. See the detailed course outline and a couple sample video clips.

Acrobat Users Conference set for Washington, DC. in Dec.
Figleaf Software and Adobe Systems are sponsoring a one-day Acrobat Users Conference in Washington, D.C. on December 7. It features both hands-on sessions and expert speakers covering a range of topics, including Acrobat 8. Visit the conference website for more details and to register

Blogging Acrobat 8
Several of our Acrobat-expert bloggers—Carl Young and Thom Parker—attended the recent Adobe MAX event in Las Vegas and shared their insights and observations. This week several more were at the Adobe Acrobat PDF Central Conference in Iowa and blogged from the site.

Read what they and others have to say in the AUC blogs, then chime in with your comments and/or questions!
