javascript and dropdown listbox adobe acrobat 9 pro

After I select a dropdown selection from the dropdown listbox, where do i write the javascript to to send the data to a database???? how do i get to the script editor. a book i read said to go to tools
] advanced editing ] link tool and select the link tool from the advanced editing toolbar. None of these options are available on my acrobat pro 9 UI.
