Web-based form transmittal tools

I need to submit fillable PDF form data from a free Acrobat reader to a .Net web application.  I have successfully done this but only from a server where Adobe Acrobat Professional 8 was installed and by modifying an existing v7 PDF form with LiveCycle Designer to include a Submit button that POSTs form data to my web application.  Unfortunately, the modified form  generates an error loading into the free Adobe readers.  I have read there are a couple of licensed Adobe products that support web-based form transmittal.  One a server-side forms service and another a client-side product that extends the functionality of the free readers.  Can you tell me how they work and their licensing fees.

thanks
