Livecycle not opening

The Following Quesetion was asked in March, '07.  I have the same problem and the answer below does not solve.  I can not open Livecycle unless I start a new form design, then close it, and open my form I am in the process of designing.

thanks for the help.

Q: I just upgraded to 8.0 and now whenever I try to open LiveCycle Designed it opens Adobe Professional instead. The only work around that I have found is in Profession to click on "Create a new form". Any ideas on how I can get LiveCycle to open without having to go through Professional?

A:Hi Amandah17,

On a Windows system Adobe Designer can be opened from Start ->All Programs without having Acrobat Pro open.

Hope that helps,

Re: Livecycle not opening

From your desktop, Right click, select New, Shortcut, click browse, go to the programs file folder on the C:/ drive, find Adobe and click it, find Adobe 8.0 and click, click Designer 8. find the file titled Form Designer and click.

Now you'll have a direct link to Designer from your desktop.

Re: Livecycle not opening

when I click on the short cut, "FormDesigner"...it still starts to open Livecycle, then automatically closes it and opens Adobe Acrobat Pro instead.

Re: Livecycle not opening

Try running the "Repair Acrobat Installation" option from the Help menu.
