PDF document security

How do I setup/create a PDF file encrypted with a digital certificate and limit readability by a number of recipiants that also have the digital certificate?

Hi rodduff,

You can use certificate security to control the list of intented recipients for a PDF. You can also control what permissions each recipient might have as well. In Acrobat 8 the the command to use is Advanced --> Security --> Certificate encrypt.

Sometimes the process of manually managing individual or group access rights to a PDF can become complex. At this point you might want to investigate a tool that can integrate with Acrobat "and" integrate with authentication systems like LDAP and Active Directory.
