In Adobe 8.0 it shows templates (eg .. Invoice) which have built in sum calculations. I noticed the cells are all in a table and seem to have a parent/child naming scheme in the following format Amount[0], Amount[1], etc.. This is kind of handy as in the subtotal cell all you have to type in is Sum(Amount[*]).
The problem is how to bind the cells to that pattern. I am unable to type in the brackets and also cannot edit the box to the right of the name field (binding tab) so if I name them all Amount .. they all show up as Amount[0].
What step can I be possibly missing? I have the Bible and I know how to do parent child naming in the Acro-forms but not the livecycle ones.
Thanks for your feedback on this..

Forms created in Acrobat 8 can not be edited in LiveCycle.
Data binding can be done in Acrobat by eanbling ADBC (Adobe Database Connectivity). There is an article on how to do this in the Acrobat Knowlwdge Base.
If the form was developed in LiveCycle, it can not be edited in Acrobat 8. Instructions on data binding is available in LiveCycle help.

Thanks for the responses to my questions, however I am not trying to edit Livecycle forms in Acrobat. I am strictly trying to edit a LiveCycle form in LiveCycle. Teh misunderstanding may come from the comment where I said I know how to do parent/child naming in Acrobat.
Where my confusion lies is in how to name the cells in a column with the same name, the only difference being the row number in brackets. How do I set it up so the name is in the following format - Amount[x], where x = row number??
Thanks again..
