"Convert to Adobe PDF" Takes Over Word AutoText

I'm using Acrobat 8 Pro and MS Word 2003. I use a lot of custom AutoText entries in Word to insert boilerplate text into legal documents. Recently, every time I attempt to insert AutoText, the menu options have been overtaken by "Convert to Adobe PDF." The AutoText custom entries are still defined, but I have to go into the AutoText dialogue box to access them. What gives?

Re: "Convert to Adobe PDF" Takes Over Word AutoText

Hi maxonlaw,

It almost sounds as though there there is a problem with your global template (Normal.dot) in Word. You might try renaming the Normal.dot (not deleting) to see if this resets the autotext. There is a suggestion for how to do this procedure at:

Hope this helps,
