I created a document in MS Word 2007 and when I convert it to .pdf it does not carry over the TOC links. I have followed the instructions and nothing seems to work. The other links in the document are carried over but not the TOC. Can you help me please?

Unfortunately Eugene, this doesn't help me at all. I am not creating a document. I have crated a document in MS Word 2007 and I am merely trying to convert it to a .pdf file with the TOC intact. I have never had this problem in the past until I started using Acrobat 8.0 and Office 2007. Can anyone tell me how to carry over my TOC?? Thanks for your help in advance.

Sorry cabratt,
The word "TOC" (Table of Contents)through me off. I consider that word to mean bookmarks which are based on the style tags you developed in your MS Word doc before it is converted to PDF.
A properly tagged Word doc will convert those tags to bookmarks that are linked and displayed in the navigation panel.
I suggest you examine the current tags and read these articles on the subject.

Hi Eugene,
I know that my Word document is tagged properly with styles for the links in the TOC. I am MOS certified in MS Word and I know how to convert the Word document to pdf. I have done it many, many times. I have my own site and publish a monthly newsletter. That is why I am confounded that it will not work in Adobe 8.0. When I convert the same document with Adobe 7.0 it works, but not with 8.0.

Hi cabratt,
I'm sorry I could not help. I did some extensive research on the Acrobat knowledge base and could not find a solution.
My final suggestion is to remove Acrobat 7 and keep Acrobat 8. Run the repair Acrobat Installation from the help menu, check the PDFMaker(Distiller) settings, and try the conversion again.
If this fails, post this issue (with a different heading) again to allow another expert to help solve it or check the Acrobat user forum and post this question there.

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 Extended. I created a .pdf from a web page but the links do not work. If I try to insert links and click on the link tool, all links in the table of contents are selected. Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this?
