How to number pages. I click number pages in side bar and ok to dialog box settings but no page numbers appear..Help huge doc to turn in to State Bd of Ed. converted many separate word docs where the sections were typed into pdf. Pulling into one big pdf and want to number pages but no numbers will appear.

I think the dialog box you are in is control how the number appears in the Pages panel, no on the actual pages.
You will need to go to the Document menu select Header and Footer, then click add. Use the tools in this dialog box to add page numbers.
