How can you start a shared review programatically from another application without using GUI. For instance I would like to specify a PDF document and enable it for shared review. Should I use some sort of API? is there a sample somwhere? all the tech documentation i read in Adobe development central doesn't discuss this at all? Please, please advise :)

Acrobat 8 Pro. is designed as a desktop tool for individual users, as such, it is not possible to automate the "send for shared review" from another application. The Adobe LiveCycle server products allow you to develop web application for processes such as this but not the desktop products.
