In regard to my ongoing problem with the bookmark text running together, I was asked by an Adobe Expert if I had in the options section "Wrap Long Bookmarks". Yes I have that turn on. Any other areas I need to look at? Text still runs together even though the title selected has the appropriate spaces between words.
My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 8.1 / Windows

Whether you're viewing bookmarks with the Wrap Long Bookmarks toggle on or off won't have any effect on the appearance of the names.
Try this. Create a new blank page (File > Create PDF > From Blank Page). Create a bookmark (Command/CTRL + B). Type new text for your bookmark name. If the bookmark doesn't show spaces in the name you've got something wrong with your Acrobat installation. You may need to desinstall/reistall.
If the bookmark name appears fine, open a context menu on the bookmark and choose Use Current Appearance as New Default. Then try to go back to your document, create a new bookmark and see if that works.
