I'm trying to open a PDF file in javascript modify the image size and then save it as a jpg file. Can this be done inside an html page with javascript?

When you say modify the image size are you talking about downsampling embedded images? You can't do that with a JavaScript. You can create a batch sequence and open files and save as another format such as JPEG.
