Acrobat 7 Bland Print Problem

When I create a PDF printing to Acrobat 7 from Quark featuring a large graphic created in Paintshop Pro, the colors come out all faded and bland. What am I doing wrong?

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 7 / Windows

Re: Acrobat 7 Bland Print Problem

Hi Elayne,

Not your fault - the file has probably gone wrong before it even reaches Acrobat since Quark converts to CMYK without any colour management by default. But wait - don't turn it on since it can cause even more problems  ;-)

You mention Painshop Pro but do not mention the file type (EPS, JPEG, TIFF etc) or the colour space (RGB, CMYK, Pantone) etc., etc but I will guess it's RGB.

My advice would be to open the Paintshop and convert to CMYK prior to importing into Quark. Or if Paintshop cannot convert then use (Adobe) Photoshop to convert.

Hope this helps,

Jon
