In Mac OS X, Converting word doc with hyperlinks into PDF

I am a Mac OS X user and have Adobe 8.0, I am an Adobe rookie - Whenever I convert a word doc with hyperlinks into a pdf, I lose all the links. Is there a solution to this?

Acrobat Pro 8.1 / Macintosh

use the Windows version of word and Acrobat.

The mac combination will not convert any active links due to the difference of Word on OS X compared to the Windows version.
