Beginner at this.

I am very new to Adobe and it's usage.  We recently purchased several copies of Adobe Std 7.0 and I am finding a lot of buttons unavailable when trying to edit the document.  I am even having trouble figuring out how to get the underline tool to work--I found it, but the option is grayed out.  I could use some assistance.  I am the support person for our work but am having trouble figuring out why some of the buttons are unavailable.  Also, I did save a pdf file using the Save as...in case it was a permissions issue which I am kind of leaning towards.

My Product Information:

Re: Beginner at this.

Have you registered each installed copy of Acrobat?

Have you downloaded all updates?

In order for most menu items to be available, you must have a pdf doc opened in Acrobat.

Check the preference settings by clicking Edit, Preferences?

Search the Help topics using keywords related to the issues causing the problems.

Make sure .pdf files are associated with Acrobat or Reader.

Re: Beginner at this.

The copy is registered and I have downloaded all updates.  This CD came with a scanner we purchased but there are still several options, such as "Text Edits" that will not even give me the option to utilize these.  Do I have a defective copy or what.  It is very frustrating--almost like it is a trial version but there is no mention of it being a trial version and it says "Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard" on the CD.
