I have a question pertaining to linking from an HTML website to a PDF. In Dreamweaver I know how to link to the PDF and after I browse and attach, I add this to the link,
#page=4
This will obviously not only take me to the PDF, but will take me directly to any page I select, which in this case is page 4.
The problem I have is that the link always takes me directly to the top of the PDF file. Is there a way to use "destinations" in Acrobat 7, and create some type of anchor, so I can "click" from the HTML page and jump directly into any area of the PDF page 4, whether it be at the top, middle, bottom, etc. With Dreamweaver anchors, it is simple to go from one HTML page, directly to any specific place within another HTML page.
Would greatly appreciate your help! Thanks so much!

You can not link to a bookmark in a PDF, but you can link to a named destination which will be similar to what you are trying to do.
To create a named destination open the destination panel - View > Navigation Panels > Destinations. Change the PDF view to whatever you would like, a certain page, zoom level, etc. Then click the new destination button in the destination panel. Name the destination what you would like.
Now back in Dreamweaver you will use #nameddest=xx (after the PDF file name) - where xx is the name of the destination you created in the PDF.

I tried this in DW and it doesn't work. I am using Acrobat 6.0 Standard. Is that the problem? The destinations seem to be working fine within the PDF, but the links from DW just keeps bringing it to the top of Page 1 even though i used the '#nameddest=xx' command accordingly. Can you help? Many thanks!

Thanks nsell for your help. I wanted to add something that might help for future searches.
I noticed that when using use #nameddest=xx (after the PDF file name) the link was only working one time, after that, it would always open on the first destination.
Then I tried #xx (after the PDF file name) and worked. In other words, after the name of the PDF file name, only use # and the name of the destination

There was a bug in Acrobat 7 in which the URL link only went to the first page using the syntax #page=4 after the URL. This error was corrected in 7.0.9 and later. Here is the technical note for further details:
