I have uninstalled the preloaded Acrobat Professional 8 from my laptop after the trial period expired. installed Acrobat reader. when I want to open pdf files from the internet, it doesn't open.

Most OS do not completely uninstall a program when you run uninstall from the Windows control panel.

Search the net for a free or good quality uninstaller or registry cleaner and use it to make sure Acrobat 8 has been removed.

Or, if you have the skills, inspect the Windows Registry to see in Acrobat 8 is still there and remove it manually.
