Openning pdfs after OCR.

Does running a scanned document pdf through OCR limit the ability of others using Acrobat Reader or other pdf viewing programs to open that document?  My assistant has recently sent OCR'd pdfs of scanned documents to two other people who reported back that they could not open the documents.  My assistant then scanned the documents into pdf again and sent them without running them through OCR.  The persons in question could then open them.  What is going on?

Re: Openning pdfs after OCR.

Recognizing Text Using OCR shouldn't affect the ability to open, view, and print the PDFs. Something else must be going on. You might try to use File > Save As and rewrite the PDF entirely after recognizing the text. See if that has any affect on your users being able to open the files in Reader.
