Embedding audio in a pdf

I want to embed audio in a pdf document for inclusion in an educational CD-ROM. I'm using Acrobat Pro 7. I've selected the Sound Tool, selected an area of the pdf, but then get stuck when I'm asked to choose a location. I get this alert message telling me that no media handler is available. The help menu says install a media player, such as QuickTime. I've downloaded the most recent version of QuickTime, but am still getting the alert message.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7 / Macintosh

Re: Embedding audio in a pdf

It sounds like you don't have a media player defined as a default player for the media you are trying to embed.

Are you embedding an MP3?

What version of QuickTime do you have installed?

(To determine this, open your Mac OS System Preferences and click the QuickTime icon.  Then click the "About QuickTime" button)

Also, check your Acrobat preferences (Multimedia) to make sure your Media Player is set to QuickTime.

Re: Embedding audio in a pdf

Hello Dave,

Thank you for this. I found out that the problem was with the version of Acrobat I was using. I've upgraded to a newer version and now can embed the audio no problem.
