We would like to change the Document Properties > Initial View defaults; that is, when we create every PDF we'd like it to Show the Bookmarks Panel and Page instead of the default of Page only, we'd like the Page layout to be a Single Page instead of the default of Continuous, and so on. Is there a way to change the defaults for all of the PDFs we create instead of having to change so many settings for each document?
Thanks!

Hi --
Yes, you can make the changes but not in the default program settings. Instead, create a batch file that specifies your desired settings. Then, run the batch against all your files to have them automatically opened, processed, and saved with the customized initial view.

This is exactly the question I was wondering about only we were advised by an adobe trainer to set out initial view defaults under Edit-->Preferences. We were advised that when those defaults were set under that area, those would be our defaults. Is that incorrect? Thank you.

Hi --
The preferences for opening views are set on a file by file basis.

Oh. We were thinking that if the initial view was set using Edit-->Preferences, that would override any other settings when converted. So the batch file is really only the way to go to ensure that your settings are defaulted to what you want? Thanks.
