Hello friends, please help if you can.
Well, I used Adobe Acrobat 6.0 to create a PDF file of a large document, 290 pages, that was created using Adobe PageMaker 7.0. The document itself has nearly 450 links that were painstakingly created after conversion to PDF, that linked to different pages of the document.
Unfortunately, every now and then, I need to revise the original PM 7.0 document, including the text and a few of the links. It seems such a waste of time and effort to have to change it in PM first and then painstakingly create all the links once again in Acrobat! Is there a easier way? I wish there was a feature whereby the PM and the PDF documents are 'linked', so that the changes in PM are automatically 'reflected' in the PDF file; just having to update the changed text and links in PDF file would be so much easier! Any thoughts?
I can not afford to upgrade either of the two programs, unfortunately.

Such a connection between PDF and Pagemaker does not exist, or is it ever likely to exist. But there is an easy solution.
1. When you convert the updated PageMaker file into PDF, write it to a temporary file, like tmp.pdf
2. Open the Old PDF file, the one with all the links. Then select "Replace Pages" from the Acrobat Document menu. This menu item will replace the page content of your PDF without changing links, form fields, or bookmarks. If the new PageMaker file has a new page in it, add a page in the correct location to the Old PDF so that the replace can be done cleanly.
