About me
I've been an Acrobat user since the first release of Acrobat Exchange. I used the first release of Acrobat to solve problems printing files to commercial prepress equipment in my service bureau. When Acrobat 2.1 was released I convinced my local Ad Club they should produce an interactive CD-ROM to showcase the entries for the annual ADDY Awards competition. When Acrobat 3 was released I asked my publisher (IDGBooks at the time) to consider publishing a book on Acrobat. I wrote the Acrobat PDF Bible for version 3 and just as I completed it, Acrobat 4 was announced by Adobe. I then rewrote the book for Acrobat 4 and have written the Adobe Acrobat PDF Bible for each new version since that time.
I started speaking at conferences in 1993 on topics such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. In 1995 I started speaking at conferences on Adobe Acrobat and have continued speaking on Acrobat to the present time.
How I Use Acrobat
I use Acrobat in many different ways. Perhaps the two areas of Acrobat features I use most is creating forms and slide presentations. I design slides in Adobe InDesign, convert to PDF and use forms tools to link to files for demos and examples. About 99 percent of all PDFs I create originally start from a layout in Adobe InDesign.
