Adobe's Mike Richman, a Senior Solutions Engineer for Adobe Systems, gave a fast-paced overview on "What's new in Acrobat 8 for Prepress" on Tuesday, July 10 at the New York Public Library for Science, Industry and Business.

About 20 members of the New York City chapter Acrobat group attended the session. Many of the those who attended are employed in the graphic arts, with both design and production well represented!

Mike covered the following topics:

  • PDF Creation
  • Combine and Package
  • PDF/X and PDF/A enhancements
  • New Preflight tools and Fixups
  • Droplets For Automating Preflight And Corrections
  • JDF Parts And Automations
  • Integration with Adobeís Creative Suite

As always, we had lunch and a raffle of Adobe books, programs and other goodies to conclude our meeting.

We're finalizing the "Connect" session recording and should have that available sometime the week of July 23. Check back then!
