Denver Acrobat User Group
Meeting Notes Archive
November 2, 2006
The Denver Acrobat Users Group had our first meeting hosted by Shaw Engineering. The first hour was setup as an informal chance to have pizza and refreshments and for members to get to know one another and ask questions of Joel before the official meeting started.
Joel Geraci PDF Evangelist from Adobe, gave an award winning presentation on the NEW Acrobat 8 key features. The demonstration generated a lot of dropped jaws and generated much enthusiasm with our members.
There were many questions at the end especially around Acrobat 3D as we had a number of engineers from Shaw in attendance. This will surely be a topic for a future meeting!
Amongst the prizes Joel generously surprised the group with a raffle for a copy of Acrobat 3D! Everyone walked away with something they didn’t have when they arrived, a t-shirt, software, a copy of the PDF Bible, flash drive and best of all a good understanding of how Acrobat can change the way you do business.
The group then briefly discussed ideas for future meeting topics with the top 4 being:
- Prepress/Preflight
- Acrobat 3D
- Security
- Forms
Lisa Forrester, from Adobe announced that the Denver InDesign user group would be starting in the area.
Many thanks to Lisa and Shaw Engineering from all of us, for securing a site for our meetings, and arranging all of the logistics to make this happen!
